Laura Murphy joined the meeting and advised that 4 of the 8 bearers in Stockport are from the Stockport area. Overall 14 Stockport people have been selected to carry the torch of which 7 are of school age.
Papua New Guinea have signed up to use training facilities in Stockport.
The potential links with businesses in Stockport for club/business assistance was to be sent out again.
Case studies are needed for the Stockport Council website preferably with photos. It was noted that release forms may be required if photographs are included.

ID circulated a flyer advertising the '100 days to go' initiative.
There are 171 clubs registered on the website, 58 have paid affiliation.
CW reported that work was progressing on amending the website to allow clubs to 'self update' their details. The contact email address would be used to enable access together with a password.
6 Sport Stockport Initiatives:
Get Coaching Stockport – The project has now finished and ID has been finalising all of the paperwork for Greater Sport. He is also exploring options to re-launch the project in the new financial year.
ID has been working with Stockport Rugby Club and Burnage Rugby Club and Compstall Cricket Club to apply for development funding
7 Club Development Funding Applications:
No applications had been received
19 allocations have been made with 1 deferral using a total of £7,600 to date.
It was noted that £12,000 had been allocated for this initiative. ID to circulate affiliated clubs again.

9 Active Stockport Alliance:
No report available. Is the Alliance still alive? ID to follow up.
Stockport needs a playing pitch strategy. If there is no Playing Pitch Strategy in place this will adversely affect clubs applying for bids. The last strategy was produced in 2005 which is still valid to meet government requirements but it needs updating to qualify for funding.
10 Any other business:
ID reported that Target Fitness Peel Moat would close on Sunday 15th April 2012 for good. It is likely that a new facility would be built in Offerton within the next 2 years.
A new facility is planned for the Brinnington Area to replace the Lapwing Centre.
The AGM to be arrange towards the end of May (Action JS)
Meeting closed at 8.55 p.m.
Date for the next meeting: Tuesday 17th April 2012, 7.30pm at Hazel Grove Bowling & Tennis Club
